You’ll have to forgive me for speaking in the past tense, but I can tell you what happened during the second week of my internship from a “lookback” perspective. I had gotten word that one of the departments needed pictures for their website. At first, I thought I got the notice so soon, since I got it the day of. Past me had no idea what was coming. So, after I took the pictures, I did a quick tweak in Adobe Lightroom. I hadn’t touched Lightroom since Photography 1, but I kept wondering why I didn’t. It’s so easy to fix up photos, especially a batch.

Like I said earlier, past me had no idea what was coming in terms of deadlines. During week 3 I got another tight deadline, which was just to draft up a quick menu for the opening ceremony for the new building across the street. I was extremely grateful for all the new opportunities to work with new clients.  Whenever I entered the office, I always felt like I had something to do. Which is a plus as well because I have always hated twiddling my thumbs.

My internship started a while back. I became an intern at Faculty Commons during Fall 2018. Most of the work that I did that semester was designs for print deliverables. I made posters, flyers and postcards for various departments at City Tech. Afterwards I would also make a web version for emails and websites like the Faculty Commons website.

This semester I am working on a project that started in the Fall semester. I am currently in the works of creating a promotional video. This video is purely motion graphics based, so I’ll be working primarily in Aftereffects.

Now I bet you’re looking at the date this was posted and realize that this isn’t really “week 1” since week 1 started on January 25th. But I will say that it usually takes some time for things to start steaming up, so all I can say now is stay tuned.
