Shahramjon Musinov(Shax) An “American” Publishes a Magazine

In the essay “An “American” Publishes a Magazine,” Shawn Wallace talks about his point of view towards cruel American nation after examining a group of pictures showing American soldiers tormenting desperate, naked, extremely thin people in chains. Since no body reacted to this situation even the president and his higher officials, Shawn is very frustrated as because no one took action. He recalls that America doesn’t not deserves to be called “the United State.” As he accepts the fact that he doesn’t believe in passports or laws on “immigration,” he hates the fact that he needs someone’s permission to go somewhere. Through out the article, even though Shawn is not happy about how the American nation is set up, he is pleased and happy for the life is has lived with good and trust worthy people in New York City.

Simeon Gayle: “An American Publishes a Magazine”

In “An American publish a magazine” Wallace Shawn writes about how highly disappointed he is with the American people and government. Wallace argued that American writers have to use caution when criticizing or being critical of US. To scrutinize America is to be unpatriotic or un-American. The writer explains that Americans see themselves as “Sovereign” and above all others in character. The author talked about pictures that were released showing the degradation of a group of people in deplorable conditions and chains. Wallace showed frustration due to the lack of “Lamentation” by the American people and at the highest level of government, even though others were troubled and concerned by the incident.   Wallace insists that the words US Holds no fascination with him. Wallace believes that the US government thinks only about destruction of cities and to trample over crowd of prostrate people in pursuit of the American dream. Wallace states that he has no choice but to embrace being an American because he benefits from this dream. Wallace also argues that there should be no such thing as a border, and that People should be able to travel freely.   The author talks about the need for Americans to accept everyone for who they are and to embrace the prospect that all lives matters.
