Dinner Dates

Located in the growing St. Marks neighborhood of New York City is Boka. This spot is famous for it’s Korean Fried Chicken and Watermelon Soju. What is Korean fried chicken? You ask. What makes Korean fried chicken unique is its extra crispy skin. This is because the chicken is deep-fried in oil twice! Also, unlike American fried chicken, Korean fried chicken is not greasy. I ordered the honey barbequed and the spicy wings every time I come here to split with a friend. Also, this place serves up the best watermelon soju. The soju is served up in a watermelon shell cut in half with the watermelon juice for a nice presentation. For those of you that don’t know what soju is, its a distilled alcoholic beverage made from grains. As an entrée, I highly recommend the Korean “steak” and eggs. It’s served on a large hot sizzling plate with kimchi fried rice on one side with sunny- side- up eggs on the other. All this with “steak” on top of the rice. I don’t know why this place calls it “steak”, but its more like kalbi… But whatever, it’s still the bomb lol.

This place is ideal for a date with your girlfriend, or just to hang out with a couple of friends. There’s always an open bar and the game is always on televisions provided around the restaurant. Like all the other restaurants in St. Marks, this place is open until the wee-hours of the morning.
