The work above is my piece for Simultaneous Contrast project.
This assignment was to learn and present how a color changes its feeling depends on surrounding colors.
For this piece, I focused on balance, symmetry and repetition to present my colors: green and purple.
The upper piece, I used curvilinear lines.
The right side has yellow on the background and purple on the left side.
when green meets yellow(warm color), it seems got darker compare to the green on the purple(cool) background.
I only used horizontal lines up, down, right and left.
By making the color I want to present go around the whole picture, I could show how a color changes its characteristics on different color background.
From this assignment, I learned that a color can change its specifics depending on its surrounding colors. A color can be shown differently in many ways. It showed me various way to use one color in different ways.
