In the unit one assignment one thing I did well in is being able to be descriptive and use dialogue. When writing it makes the story more interesting and more imaginable when you use those two things in your writing. The main point of unit one was to show people that education is a serious thing and we have to keep students engaged and informed about education. My audience was students, teachers, and the education system. I feel like this would be a good audience because no only are they are apart of the education system, but they have the power and voice to do something about the problems the education system has. I wasnāt really confused with any parts of this unit because I understood what I was doing but I was more worried if it would be a good paper or not. Some details that I could have added in my writing was more quotes and be more detailed in parts where I was explaining when I would skip class. I think I did a good job and I didnāt have to take anything out of my assignment of unit one. Maybe I could have added more sequences in my writing to make it flow a lot more better.

Going to college was probably one of the smartest decisions Iāve made, I didnāt really know what to expect with the classes I would have. I thought the work would be very hard and a lot to do but Iāve managed to get through my first semester. I knew that I would get through it and finish the semester strong. With my English class it was really good because Professor Hall was a very good at keeping the class engaged and interested. She explains things very well and makes sure that we get the materials that we need in order to do what we have to do. That is what a professor is suppose to do while teaching a class because without the professor doing that the students taking the class will be confused trying to figure out what to do on their own or asking a peer. Thatās why itās good to try to interact with your professors such as asking questions, conversing, and even sharing your ideas to the professor.
Taking an English class this semester Iāve improved in a couple of things. I feel like what I have improved on most was being able to add dialogue and be as detailed as possible in my writing. A time where I used dialogue in my writing was when I had to write my unit one paper. In the unit 1 assignment, at first I wrote, āHe said donāt let this happen again or I will have to tell your mom.ā I had read it over and said to myself that it wasnāt descriptive so I switched it with, “He even said if this happened again I will tell your mom. I reacted fast and said āNo please Donātā with quickness.ā now when I read this it was more descriptive. I could imagine myself in this scenario that I wrote. When writing itās good to be descriptive in your writing because it allows the reader to stay interested and have the reader be able to imagine and picture themselves doing it as they read your paper. Another thing I have improved on is sentence focus, this is something that dr.Hall has taught me while taking the course. Sentence focus is being able toĀ make your sentences more focused, by doing that your writing will be more clear, and direct. Using Strong using strong and active verbs and using Ā nouns will help your sentence be more focused.
when I was thinking of what to do for this project, ideas started coming through my head slowly. I had took the questions that my peers gave me and used it to help further my research in my project. They even suggested to watch some videos to help with my project which was helpful to us. Ā When I started brainstorming I was kind of stuck on what to do. I didnāt know what kind of audience to use which I finally decided to use a specific audience to use on my project. I started to feel more better about the whole thing.
When I started to actually work on my project I wanted to do an article to the government because they are the people who need to help with poverty and need to know that people are hurt because of poverty and a lot of people are getting killed because of it. But then I thought to myself that the government already knows this but doesnāt care to do anything about it. After deciding that I donāt want to do the article no more I decided that my audience would be the children because it is more important to know what they might have to go through in life. Children should be able to understand the aspects of poverty and how it plays a big part on peopleās lives. I decided to make a childrenās book so that the kids could read it and better understand it. When I was doing the childrenās book I thought to myself since itās a childrenās book, I said I would have to speak if I was a child myself so that way itāll be easier for them to understand.
I chose this genre because I thought it would be the best way to get their eyes. I want Ā my audience to learn the aspect of poverty and how poverty should be taken seriously. There is so much that can be done against poverty but people donāt really speak up on it. People should have the courage to help and even give their community the courage to stand with you and fight. Families should be able to live without the fear of being in poverty. Everyone has a life to live so they should be able to live it in joy not I fear. Ā People should learn from others personal experience and what they have also learned so that they can pass it on to other people as well and help others learn. I want to be able to bring shine light on people and help them feel happy again and be able to have resources and live a good non povish lifestyle.
what I did first was I chose an interesting topic for my project. Then I had did research and used all the info I got and put it into my own words on paper. I used some quotes and some statistics on the topic I chose. Then I brainstormed what audience and genre I should use in order to get this project done. After doing that I decided to continue with the project and make a childrenās book because children are the ones who should learn more about this social issue because they arenāt really taught in depth of poverty and the backstory of poverty. Also they should learn Ā what it does to people.I got stuck a little because I didnāt know what would be good information to put inside the book but I finally got it done.
