The study of cursive writing in the early years of primary school has shown it can be effective for a lot of children. In the research article â Teaching of cursive writing in the first year of primary school: Effect on reading and writing skillsâ multiple researchers were able to gather multiple children that can write only in cursive and children that can not write in cursive. This study was done in 2019 so this study is not that different from what today’s studies would be. The purpose of this site is to inform people that are interested in cursive writing and talk about the effects in school. The researchers use their own experiments and research data they have collected to provide solid proof to prove their own point of how cursive writing affects children today. This helps the audience to be more informed about this topic and to spread their own research that can be more looked into. The writer of this article finds that âpupils using cursive as the only handwriting type had better results in producing orthographically correct words than students using more types.â This shows that cursive writing can be very useful for a lot of younger children growing up. This can also help create a habit of neater handwriting and this would prove effective in school and in adulthood. To me I never really wouldâve thought that only writing in cursive could make such a big difference in terms of how much of a better writer you can be. I believe I have seen very few people use only cursive writing and I have never personally experienced the effects of only writing in cursive. In the researchers studies, he came to the conclusion that âit is important to support the teaching community to ensure that decisions regarding handwriting automatization are taken at the beginning of the educational process.â To me personally I agree with the researcher’s end of discussion statement because teachings such as cursive writing in school should be clarified more and taught more efficiently. This can cause good writing habits for people growing up and can help make people like me a better writing composition.
