I am interested in this question “Who is Herman William?” because he is a man who served nearly 29 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. His conviction was overturned when the Innocence Project stepped in to help Herman Williams see the light of day again. In high school, I was in the law program. I was interested in becoming a criminal defense lawyer. However, after taking one year of “Introduction to Law” classes I knew it wasn’t for me. Though, I was still interested in following up on criminal cases such as Herman William’s case. From watching youtube videos, to reading articles, and my senior year taking a forensics class in high school. In the forensics class, we would have several projects throughout the semester studying the Innocence Project’s cases, how they would overturn these people’s convictions.
In my research I expect to find who Herman Williams is as a person. How Herman William’s was able to get his conviction overturned and expunged. What crime Herman William’s was sentenced to originally. In addition to, why did the Innocence Project choose his case. What the criminal justice was like during the time period of William’s sentencing.
If there is information that goes completely against with what I had expected to find I will not throw it away. I will write about my topic either way if the information goes completely against it. I will challenge my own assumptions and be open minded. However, the information may not go completely against what I had expected because I have no assumptions, this is purely an informative topic and is not meant to sway anyone’s opinions.
Interesting. Great topic and great intro
