Define: Here’s my draft of a disorienting and psychedelic song. It was challenging to convey the music on paper, and I sense a theme of asymmetry in my drafts. The swirls, lines, and shading felt like a natural representation as I listened to the song repeatedly.
Develop: Here is my final artwork, which includes a few squares with different patterns. To create this piece, I watched the music video and took time to understand the lyrics, which conveyed feelings of isolation, instability, nostalgia, and tears. While some of my ideas may have come off as strange on paper, I tried my best to use shading and shapes effectively. Admittedly, my spacing and lining skills could use improvement, but as a beginner artist with shaky hands, freehand drawing is a challenge.
