I chose the song “Flamingo” by Kenshi Yonezu. Although it’s a song in a different language, I enjoyed listening to this because of it’s catchy rhythm. In this phase, while I am listening to song, I included the rhythms and interpret the meaning of lyrics to create these pattern. I chose multiple lyrics out of this song to interpret into pattern. And the interview of the artist of the song. He mentioned being isolated, the feeling of sadness and jealousy, and mention the dizziness of a drunken man. I tried to visualize these emotions and lyrics into pattern, therefore created these 12 squares.

This is hard project for me because I have trouble visualizing sounds into pattern. Therefore I chose to look into lyrics and the meanings behind it and watch it’s music video to try and captured an inspiration for patterns. I think I could have done better with the patterns if I have look into other interpretation and combine it with my own. If so I think I can create some unique patterns for this song.
