1-The similarity between McIntyre’s and hitchBOT’s is that both had the same experience in traveling. However, Hitchhike, the robot, had a bad experience and the human McIntyr’s had a good experience. The human was welcome and the robod got destroyed in many city that he passed by.
2-As I said in answered number one, one had a good experience and the other not. And besides one was a robot with no feelings and a human with feelings.
3- Not at all. The robot experience do not deny McIntyre’s experience. Because, the robot had a bad experience? He is a robot. As a human being, “normally” we have a tendency to understand the other human being. The robot is just a robot, programed to do whatever the human programed him to do.
i’m agree with what you are saying, because the thing about that we don’t treat robots like humans its a true statement
I agreed with you is not the same to treat robots than treat people.
I am agree with you. We are not treating robot goodly.
I think that’s a great point. It’s much easier to have empathy toward a fellow human than toward an inanimate object!
1-Theres various similarities between McIntyre’s and hitchBOT’s, one of them would be that they both traveled thanks to strangers.
2-in the opposite side Hitchhike was destroyed by humans and Ms. McIntyre’s was cared by humans.
3- I don’t think so, because Ms. McIntyre’s is a human and Hitchhike its a robot, so people tend to have a better treatment with living things than for non-living things.programed him to do.
I am agree with your second answer because we are not treating robot same as human.
You’re right, they did both travel and rely on the kindness and understanding of strangers.
1. The similarities between McIntyre’s and hitchBOT’s experiences is all about traveled.
2.The different between McIntyre’s and hitchBOT’s is hitchBOt’s was destroyed and don’t know who break it. McIntyre’s with feeling and know better than hitchBOt’S. Also had a good experience traveling.
3. In my opinion, i don’t think the robot’s experience negate McIntyre’s because robot just a machine doest have any thought and cannot affect anything.
You’re right that machines don’t have thoughts, though I do think hitchBOT’s destruction had an effect on the scientists who made him.
1-based on what I read McIntyre’s and hitchBOTs have similar were travelers, unfortunately hitchBOT ended on a bad situation while McIntyre’s had a god experienced on his traveled.
2. How was their experience different?
people treat McIntyre’s with empathy, they offer him food and a place to stay.I think they treat him the way they did because he was a human been, for that reasons the end of hitchBOT was bad. at the beginning they treat a hitchBOT good as well but later its found people who didn’t have any kind of emotion or respect for it.
3. I think that not hitchBOT had that bad experience because was a robot, we feel nothing else more than attraction for that object. we think as that if we were on that position do I would like that people help me? of course yes. McIntyre’s were better treat because was a human, they show their empathy for him. maybe they put on his shoes and ask themselves would I like to be helped?
I think you made a good point by saying both had a different experience for the simple reason the are different ( human and robot), but we all know human can be very bad against each other.
I like your third answer. If I am in place of robot I don’t like what people did.
I think saying people didn’t have respect for hitchBOT is an excellent way of putting it.
1. The similarity between McIntyre’s and hitchBOT’s experiences is traveling.
2.Their experiences were totally different which McIntyre had a real feeling and the robot did not. It was a machine that recording data. Even though it got destroyed and it won’t be mad.
3. I do not think that robot’s experiences negate McIntyre’s, because they were different. Since one is human and the other is truly a robot. People treated in a different way and the empathy is real.
yes, emotion is the one of the biggest different in between McIntyre and hitchBOT. the one have emotion is easier to get people’s empathy.
You’re right that people treat humans and inanimate objects differently. Do you think the people who destroyed hitchBOT had empathy for his creators?
1. McIntyre and hitchBOT both experienced traveling. The similarity between them was they both traveled thanks to strangers.
2. McIntyre has experienced the people empathy. People treated him as he deserved. Where hitchBOT has bad experience. Their experience was totally different because McIntyre had a real feeling and robot had not.
3. No, the robot’s experience doesn’t negate McIntyre’s experience. We have a tendency to understand the other human being. A Human can feel but a robot can’t. The Robot is ill-treated by people if I am at its place I like when people help me and I get hurt when they don’t help me. So, if I analyze its situation I don’t like a human behavior.
Good work,by giving some strong support, but you took it to personal
Thanks, I took it not personally but I can say I don’t like human behavior in this case.
The robot being hurt is a sad circumstance. In fact, I really feel for the scientists and engineers who created the robot and all the people rooting for its success!
1.-There are some similarities in both travelers. The most significant, to cross the territory of the United States from coast to coast hitchhiking and with the help the strangers.
2.-McIntyre was able to finish his journey, thanks to the support and help of friendly people. He had good experience in his life. In other hand, BOT was vandalized by someone and his trip ended abruptly. The robot had a bad experience.
3.-In my point view, I do not think. As human we tend to fell the same feelings, but do not forget that there are also bad people. This time McIntyre’s experience was positive.
You did a great job explaining the differences in their experiences! Let me know who you are so I can give you credit.
1.The similarities between McIntyre and hitchBOT are they both have a experience of traveling with out any money, and have make friend with strangers on the trip.
2.The different are McIntyre is a man and had an amazing experience, and hitchBOT is a robot and it have found destroyed on the way.
3.I think hitchBOT’s bed experience didn’t negate McIntyre’s. because they are different. hitchBOT is a robot, people treat it just sympathy. McIntyre is a human, he can share his experience to others to get their empathy.
Zhie Jie, that’s an excellent point. Even though the robot was programmed to speak some phrases, he couldn’t encourage empathy in other humans in the same way McIntyre could.
1. Their similarity is their journey to the unknown; to discover new places and met new people.
2. Both made a success journey, the difference is that hitchBOT despite the success of his trip experience end up with a tragic end, unfortunately someone decided to act badly with him. Unlike McIntyre who completed his journey with success.
3.I don’t think the experience of hitchBOT negates McIntyre’s; These are two similar projects with two different experiences. The results of their experience depended on the people they met, and hitchBOT met a lot of nice people but had the misfortune to come across probably a bad person. It’s a very sad end for hitchBOT, it didn’t certainly deserve it.
1. The similarities between hitchBot and McIntyre’s is traveling.
2. McIntyre’s is human, hitchBot is robot. They get the experience in their travel, but McIntyre’sget the good experience, hitchBot get the bad one. Their experience different is people who do the destroy to hitchBot in that travel.
3.I don’t think hitchBot ‘s experience can negate McIntyre’s. This is two projects about travel with two different people. One is human, another one is robot. As human we can understand other people’s feelings, but robot can’t. Robot as a program marchine to collect the data in travel.
1) The similarity between McIntyre’s and HitchBOT’s is that both had the same experience in traveling.
2) The different between McIntyre’s and HitchBOT’s is that Hitchhike is the robot, and he had no feeling like human. Also, end of robot journey was its destroyed and nothing he could realize or make difference in closing journey. Nevertheless, McIntyre’s is a human he have knowledge to understand other people. He doesn’t have to carry limited conversation. In addition, McIntyre’s was welcome by unknown people but the robots had a bad outcome on the final trip.
3) In my viewpoint, the robot’s experience doesn’t negate McIntyre’s experience because they both are totally different from each other which is one is object another is human. So, people just feel sympathy for the Hitchhike that it is damage and people can’t use it again. However, McIntyre’s tour impacts other people. One example from the text stated that, one kid he wants to be journalist and go all the places McIntyre’s been. This demonstrated that how he makes someone else to think as significant his idea and make people comprehend his experience. Also, McIntyre’s able to obtain skill that how kindness people were that he met during his travel.
1. What are some similarities between McIntyre’s and hitchBOT’s experiences?
-The similarities between McIntyre’s and HitchBOT are both of them started traveling without any money , and they both hitchhiked to move around
2. How was their experience different?
-McIntyre’s experience was successful and said it was really great moment to have. And HitchBOT and vandalized by unknown , so it failed to travel.
3. McIntyre had a good experience traveling and hitchBOT had a bad one. Does the robot’s experience negate McIntyre’s? Why or why not? Be sure and discuss empathy’s role in your answer.
-My answer is No, it doesn’t negate McIntyre’s experience. Because according to McIntyre , he realized that giving up money to have richest experience was great thought he felt. For HitchBot’s case, i feel bad for the HitchBOT , but it was somehow reasonable case to vandalized , i don’t mean that it is a good thing, but it wasn’t human who have traveled . The Robot can speak only few words, couldn’t even communicated with people it met.
1.Hitchbot’s and McIntyre’s both have some experience in traveling.Hitchbot’s had bad experiences in traveling and McIntyre’s had good experiences in traveling.
2.The human was pretty welcome by people and society in the way of traveling and had a great adventure and experience in traveling but the robot had bad experiences in traveling, he was destroyed by humans because he was a robot.
3.the robot’s experience doesn’t negate McIntyre’s because robots don’t have emotion or ability to understand others like humans being.
1. One of the similarities between McIntyre’s and hitchBOT’s experiences is that they through accept other people’s help to complete their traveling. The anther one of similarities between McIntyre’s and hitchBOT’s experiences is that their experiences impact other people, but McIntyre is positive and hitchBOT is negative.
2. First, they are different species, McIntyre is human and hitchBOT is a robot. Second, McIntyre can share his experience with other people like feeling, while hitchBOT only though take the picture to show its journey. Finally, their results are also different, McIntyre is positive and hitchBOT is negative.
3. No, the robot’s experience doesn’t negate McIntyre’s, it’s because human and robot are totally different. For example, the robot only sits and wait for someone who willing to help on its journey, while human can initiative to seek help. Due to this example to show why they are getting different result in their journey.a
I like your idea of using positive and negative to represent McIntyre and robot.
1.They both are the same, because it’s all about traveling and learning new things also experience way of life.
2.People are friendly to each other but, everyone aren’t the same so it’s not for everyone.
3.Humen’s uses it’s won brain to move and controls them self. But in other hand robots are told to do things by human,so they’re not same.
I like your second answer but I didn’t like what people did.
The similarities between McIntyre’s and hitchBOT’s experiences is that both of them have the same goal of traveling,” crossing USA”.However, HitchBOT goals was only to cross the United States of America. He had no others interests in the taditions and culture of the people that he met while Mclntyer”s goal was to find out about the people he met. He wanted to see how people accept strangers. he wanted to know about the capacity of American people to help strangers. he got to know the people reaction and their willingness to learn about different traditions. for that reason, Mclntyre was successful in his journey and had a great experience while HitchBOT got declined by the people
and had a bad experience.
