“Context/Contrast”

Since my visit to the architectural exhibition at the Brooklyn Historical Society call “Context/Contrast (new architecture in historic Districts 1967 to present)” and in my opinion a must see exhibit, I learned about the different areas of New York City that are preserved and marked as city landmark’s. This exhibition not only covers the borough of Brooklyn but, many different neighborhoods from the Upper East Side to Soho. The exhibited emphasis is on the preservations of historical areas of the city, nevertheless one can find individual buildings that have been preserved. In addition this exhibited, exposes proposal work for restoration shown in carefully crafted drawings and 3D models of the landmarks restorations.

In addition to see proposals of reconstructions , we can find information on the organizations that work in the protection and restoration of the landmarks such as The New York City Landmarks and Preservation Commission .
