While I am obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in nursing, I have learned how important research is for nursing practice, especially evidence-based practice. It is important to further research to provide the best evidence-based practice possible. It is also important to further one’s education because medicine is always advancing. I finished nursing school in Poland 24 years ago and the medical information and plans of care have changed drastically since then. This is part of the reason why I am continuing my education to obtain my Bachelor’s degree, I want to provide the best patient care that is advanced and based on evidence-based practice. The baccalaureate program at City Tech has also grown my management and leadership skills, as well as expanded my knowledge of public health.
