Mark H Eng 2527 – D594 John Arnold / AI Threat

I found both articles to be very accurate. As a technology student I was greatly interested in the topics about the science industry and how technology is affecting the workforce. The first article about the Arnold’s and their contribution to science really caught my attention because I have been following the recent criticism the scientific world have recently been enduring. Overall I still believe in science 100% however.

The second article  AI Threat, I also found very accurate because I myself also believe that a majority of manufacturing jobs are gone forever because of technology and automation. I firmly do not believe those job will ever return to the USA and for the old ideology of the working man. This was a big concern and promise in the following election and I am looking forward to see how it all plays out over the next four years under the Trump administration.

Mark H – Eng 2527 – Section D594 – Bradbury / Heinlein

I found the two short stories by Bradbury and Heinlein very interesting.

A sound of Thunder, by Ray Bradbury captured my interest as I was following along trying to learn how the story unfolded and ultimately ended. The story reminds me of a current show on television named ‘Westworld”on HBO as the characters in that script were also going on a time travel trip.  The fact that any minor changes or differences can have a huge consequences and alter existing facts of the real world I find interesting.

All You Zombies, by Robert Heinlein also captivated my attention. I was immediately drawn once the reader became aware of the situation in the hospital room once the delivery was over. As a male, I found the events of questioning someone’s identity frightening, and consulting them while under medication and choosing to reassign their sexual organs… greatly disturbing.
