Mark H – Eng 2575 D594 – Instruction Manual Progress

The progress of my instruction manual is going well so far. I have already listed all of the ingredients, steps and equipment needed to make my own coral / exotic fish food. Next I need to expand of the instructions and measurements of the ingredients. If the measurements are not correct per ratio, it can have a negative affect once it is added to the saltwater system by causing a rise in phosphates and excessive nutrients. As a result, this will cause hair algae and other problems to grow. I am also working on the images for my manual, which will all be from my own systems.

Mark H, Eng 2575 Section D594 – Instruction Manual

For the instruction manual I have decided to write direction on how to create fish food for saltwater corals and fish. As a hobby I collect exotic fish and corals, and have always planned on manufacturing my own food. This is a very precise product because any incorrect mixtures can cause a crash within the saltwater system killing all fish and corals.

Mark H, Eng 2575 Section D594 – Expanded Definition

At first I thought this assignment was going to be easy for me to complete. However, it became difficult because the term I selected was Network which is a combination of two words, net and work.  I decided to state the origin of both words and then spoke of the term itself on a whole. I am not confident that my writing was technical enough for this paper. I am looking forward for the Professors feedback, and hopefully revise whatever mistakes he points out. As for MLA and citing I am good with those instructions.

Mark H, Eng 2575 Section D594 – Midterms

Mark H, Eng 2575 Section D594 – Assignment One Summary Feedback

After reviewing the feedback from Assignment One, I agreed with the criticism and the information provided to become a better writer. The main feedback was my assignment had a lot of information which read as a list of information. While writing this assignment, I also felt as if I was providing a lot of information because I wanted to review all of the main points from the article itself. When I was finished with the first draft, I was over by almost 150 words. Therefore I began to cut out sentences and other point to meet the 500 word requirement. This is a problem I have always had as a student writer. Whenever professors assigned papers with requirements I have always gone over the required amount. This is something I plan to work on and correct in this class. Another, point that was brought to my attention was to use better transition words.  This is something I am not worried about because I am normally good at this. For future assignments, I will surly work to improve this as well.

Mar H – Eng 2575 Section D594 – Elizabeth Kolbert

I mainly agreed with the reading from “That’s What You Think” by Elizabeth  Kolbert about perception and how we can sometimes assume that we know all of a particular topic. It is human nature that we tend to believe we have a full understanding without properly investigating all details and facts . Humans tend to speak from their emotions rather than full details.
