How to: Register your account

Step 1: Go to the CUNYFirst website, http://home.cunyfirst.cuny.edu

Step 2: In the sign in window there is an option that says “First Time Users” click that option.

Step 3: Fill in you information.

                       ***When entering your date of birth, you need to input as MM/DD/YYY.

For example: 06/12/1992.

                         *** You will also need to be able to type the capcha words into the box provided.

Step 4: The next screen will ask you to choose Challenge Questions for security purposes for when you forgot your password. Pick and answer 5 different questions that work for you.

                   ***The answers are case sensitive. We recommend answer your questions all lower case***

Step 5: Then you are asked to choose a password, the requirements for the password is that the password must be:

·         8 characters long or more

·         At least one Uppercase letter

·         One numerical or special character

NOTE: The password expires every 90 days and you cannot use the same previous 4 passwords used.

Step 6: When you complete the steps, the User Activation Complete page, your username and EMPL ID number will be displayed.

                       *** Make sure your write these 2 items down in a safe place.
