Last night my fiancée and I went to a Thai restaurant, and for the first time I tried chicken satay. Although it just looks like grilled chicken on a stick, it was seasoned with turmeric and curry powder. To accompany it was a side of peanut sauce and a citrus vinaigrette. The chicken was grilled perfect and was still juicy inside, and the seasonings gave you just enough kick. The onlyr thing I was not too fond of was the peanut sauce which tasted just like peanut butter and was too thick.
Funny thing about satay. I really don’t like peanut butter when it’s mixed with sweet flavors (you know, PB&J, Reece’s) but I think it’s delicious when savory. Each to his or her own!
