I think my favorite place on our Williamsburg tour was the Mast chocolate factory as I am a chocoholic. Unlike most of you, I loved the goat cheese chocolate – perhaps because I eat goat cheese all the time, and perhaps because I love trying new and unusual foods. The sheep milk chocolate was a close runner-up. I also enjoyed the short “tour”, especially because I had never seen the inside of a cocoa bean before. Who knew chocolate comes from slimy white seeds of a fruit??

Last weeks tour of Williamsburg was probably my favorite tour. I enjoyed the BBQ joint Fette Sau, the different sauces they had were all great with the meats. I also really liked the beans. Mast Brothers chocolate place had such an intoxicating smell and distinct flavors. Overall the tour was great, and I will definitely go back.

I had always seen the Mast chocolate bars but I have never tried them. I never knew about their background and story of how it came into being. As I entered the chocolate shop, I inhaled the glorious smell of beans being roasted. I learned where the beans came from which was Ecuador and I really admire the hard work being put into this product. My favorite out of the chocolates we tried was the olive oil one. I will go back to purchase Mast brother chocolates and try more flavors.
