I began my internship at Waave in August as a ux/creative intern. The company is located at 335 Madison Ave, New York and it was a team of 4 people. Waave is a tech company that created a ride-hailing app that helps taxis to provide upfront fares and surge-free pricing for passengers. It is a private company and their main customers are working class people based in New York and Boston looking to find an affordable taxi to get to their destination safely.
In the most recent articles on The New York Post and 6sqft, Waave is helping yellow taxis connect to riders easier and give passengers the transparency they deserve. Waave is also addressing the ride rejection for communities of color from traditional street hailing taxis.
