This is my second muted color piece. For this one I tried to express a narrow range using low key colors. I did not take as much time to plan the execution of this one and I also did not use colored cut outs either. Personally I do not enjoy this one because of its sloppy appearance and the colors do not work well together.

This is my interpretation of the color wheel. I used the first letter of each color to represent the color itself. The color which I found most difficult to mix was violet because the red overpowered the blue greatly. I found that mixing orange was the easiest.

This is the first muted color collage that I made. To achieve a broad range of muted colors I added white to each individual color to give it less saturation. I feel like I could have used more white on the orange for this one in particular. Possibly the red could have used a bit more white but for the most part I believe they work well overall.

This is my second cut out collage using pieces of my portrait. For this one I tried to express a broad range of values using both high and low key grays. I believe that the emphasis is on the flower and the focal point is the petals or center of the flower. I do not think that I expressed the feeling of movement as well as
I could but it can be seen slightly in the stem of the flower moving up to the focal point. Personally I enjoy this one better than the one prior to it because it was better developed.

This is my painted piece of the cut out collage we made using sections of our portraits. I found it difficult to express the gradation from light to dark using the paint. I had trouble exacting the details of the piece mainly because I didn’t have a thin paintbrush for the finer details. Some things I would change about how I went about this would be to spend some more time caring to details.
