HOMEWORK
1 icon: revise or new icon sketches
Process: sketch with markers
-
- Choose letter and image
Choose new, or revise a previous sketch
- Choose letter and image
2. Create 7 new sketches (approximately 2 inch squares)
3. Choose your 3 best sketches
Enlarge and Refine. (approximately 3 inch squares)
4. Re-examine your 3 sketches
Refine them to fit this criteria:
****you will probably need to redraw to fit this criteria
A. The image is the color of the background
If your letter is black, your background and all of your image is white.
Or, reverse the colors.
B. The image subtracts from the letter.
It uses the counter-form of the letter and does not add to the letter
C. Your square image uses form only, NO line.
D. Your image is asymmetrical and not centered.
5. Continue to refine you 3-inch sketches until you have 3 that fit the A-D criteria above.
6. Once you have 3 sketches that fit all the criteria, add a check for each criteria (A-D)
7. Bring your 7 sketches, all your 3 inch refinements, and your 3 completed icon sketches with checks to class.
REMEMBER: you final sketches must fit all criteria.
