1. define your grid and hierarchy
Use a grid system to establish proportions, and create hierarchical order.
1. Go to the Google Drive and download 2 files gd2_f21_Indesign 5 column grid.idml gd2_f21_Indesign 5 colGrid EXAMPLE.idml
2 Open in InDesign
3 Create 2 pages with different arrangements
• 8.5 x 11″
• 5 column grid
• no margins
• black and white — no color
4 Define your grid: Show (at least) 2 different alignments
• asymmetrical alignments

Remember:
• Make the grid structure obvious with the position of your elements.
• To define the grid, one of the edges of the type column MUST touch the grid line. Do not center the text column in the middle of your grid!!!
• Employ scale, placement, alignment, type style, and other cues to create order.
• Asymmetrical compositions.
