The OpenLab is an open-source, digital platform designed to support teaching and learning at City Tech (New York City College of Technology), and to promote student and faculty engagement in the intellectual and social life of the college community.
What is the icon? – The Icon shown is an upper case B with a buffalo.
Does the icon use the negative space of the letterform? The Icon uses the negative spaces of the form. I think a reduction of the buffalo’s image is needed to achieve balance.
Which images fit the criteria? Image 1 seems to be more balanced in the use of figure-ground to achieve balance.
Has the icon been simplified geometrically? No! I different buffalo icon may be more suitable to achieve compatibility
