The OpenLab is an open-source, digital platform designed to support teaching and learning at City Tech (New York City College of Technology), and to promote student and faculty engagement in the intellectual and social life of the college community.
John, these are all pleasing to look at. However, I think you cropped in a little too much on the first design. You needed to zoom out a bit more before cropping to get a more perfect balance between the black and the white. It’s a bit tricky, but you have a good eye for style! Your second design is much closer to achieving this balance. I’m still trying to achieve it myself.
The second design has a good sense of figure ground. It makes my eyes move between the black and white.
