Internship

The beginning of my internship journey started by being connected through my internship professor, I was first connected to a nonprofit unpaid internship called Giving Forward, although it was a great opportunity to expand my skill set and network I was presented with the opportunity of a paid internship directly with my school’s department. Having to professionally decline and appreciate the offer was an experience I have never had to deal with yet. I believe it helped me communicate with my mentor at the time and respectfully decline the offer with Givingfoward.

The interview process with Openlab at the City Tech internship was very much comfortable since I had these two mentors as professors in my early stages of education. It felt as if I had the opportunity to be myself. I may have come off as shy or nervous at first but as the conversation went by I seemed to calm down and maintain the conversation. Once the interview process was done, I’d be notified of their decision-making the following week since they yet had more interviews to attend.
