Absorbance spectra of the two most prominent pigments found in plants.

The absorbance spectra show in what wavelength the light is absorbed by the different pigments.

Chlorophyll a and b absorb in the blue and red region but not in the green region, therefore we see the leaves as green.

Notice the wavelength where the peaks occur for each chlorophyll (in nm).
