Project 1: Introducing Myself.

I was born in Ecuador but raised in America. I came to New York City when I was five years old and I’ve resided with my family in Queens since then. I attended P.S. 89 for two years and then I was moved to Catholic school for the next nine. I made my way through the halls of William Cullen Bryant High-school and managed to graduate. Upon graduating high-school, I was able to get a job and just recently started my first year in NYCCT. College is something my parents never had the opportunity to attend. I basically come from the a hard-working middle-class family, with a big emphases on working. I was raised with the idea that with education and hard work anything can be accomplished. My passion is creating and I believe you are truly living, when you are creating. If you’re creating life, you will know how life should work. This mostly ties into the musical world but I want to branch out in the fields of electrical engineering.

I found this picture one day while I was scrolling down my news-feed. It was posted by a page that offers the latest news about science or something science related. The picture is of a frog, which is holding up a leaf over its head as it rains. The photographer who took the picture stated that the frog was actually trying to cover itself with the leaf. Normally, animals go by their primal instincts, so I was surprised to see that they can also think for themselves on a rare occasion this one. In my earlier years, I was very vulnerable and naive. With age, I managed to grow a spine and take advantage of what I have and not question what I don’t. Making the best of the situation, regardless if it rains or shines; this is what I live by and the picture captured it all.

This image could be misleading by giving off the idea that I might be in a not so pleasant situation. Rain usually never signifies something positive. The facial expression of the frog is naturally a sort of frown. Frogs aren’t usually seen with a physical smile on their face. So, a random person can be led to believe that I might not be happy person. But, it can also signify rebirth or redemption; “The rain will cleanse your soul” they say. Others might assume I love the rain-forest or that I am someone who likes animals. Both these assumptions are true but it is not the same as I my initial presentation.

All in all,  I want my profile to validate the idea that everyone is more than meets the eye. One picture can give you a glimpse into what the person could be like but it’s not concrete. It’s an educated guess, a hypothesis. I personally enjoy trying to figure out humans and how they interact with one another in different social environments. So, the best way to  figure out someone is physically talk to them and stop assuming! This matters to me because we’re not kids anymore and can’t go around acting like kids anymore. Maybe the person avatars is something that you don’t particularly like but it could turn out in actuality that once you actually converse with them, they share many other mutual interests.
