My first time using gouache paint. While painting this, the first 3 rows was pretty simple. it took a bit of thinking while mixing, thinking if the color is right between and if it would be easy to mix colors for the next row. Hearing others talk about the difficulties of the last row, I took a while to think while mixing just to make sure its just right of the grayscale. I did not want to paint it again if I messed up haha. But painting was pretty fun. I love the matte look of the paint when it dries.

These pictures were taken in school of middle range, high key and low key value.

This picture is middle range which was taken out on the 6th floor of citytech. Where there is a variety ranged of colors of grayscale.

The high key value I found in the hall way where the sunlight from the windows behind me while taking the picture reflected and made the picture very bright. In which high key meaning bright and with light exposure.

The low key value I found was in the stair case where it is very dark and the only thing supporting it was that light shown in the picture. Low key is when barely any light is exposed in the picture.

This part of the assignment was pretty fun in and amazing in the long-run, but when it came to actually doing it with using photoshop and popcorn maker… so much challenge and difficulties. Like with no experience using photoshop, it was so confusing but getting some sort of hang to it, it was cool. Then to figure out how the music should be set and figuring out how to place it due to such a short timing of 30 seconds was a bit hard. In the end it was alright. The songs I use were “Numb-Dumbstep” & “Lost in the Echo” both by Linkin Park. ♪♫

A re-done inked of my Staccato/Legato mashup. Taking advice from some classmates, I edited and did some changes from my original inked work and changed it into this. I like this one much better. I added more squares and variety with the mashup of thumbnails. The inking took me 3 hours to get done.

Putting together 3 of my staccato & legato images together into a mashup that was to my liking was a bit tricky yet so simple. I set up the variety and positioning to where it felt like it needed to be. It was fun but hard to rotate the complex dark staccato pattern I did. but overall, a fun assignment. ☺♥

The finished work of Staccato and Legato thumbnails. I enjoyed doing this just because it was so freehanded and could do any design coming to mind due to music. I loved the inking part the most though. ☺☻

Here’s the process of making a view from my window larger. Where I had to use 14×17″ Bristol, black paper, tracing paper, scissors, exacto knife, cutting mat, glue, a ruler, pencils and drafting tape. First with my mistake, I drew directly on the Bristol forgetting, it was going to get covered up anyways. So prior to my mistake, I had to use tracing paper, and trace my drawings for the exact size to make sure I cut out the shapes exact cutout of the black paper. From that mistake, it took me a bit longer to get this assignment done. I thought getting from my small thumbnails to this larger image would be harder but it end up to be pretty simple. Actually the hardest part was from tracing my image I drew on the Bristol and tape the tracing paper on the black paper and cutting. Trying my best for the tracing paper not to move while using my exacto knife to cut the parts of black paper of the image I need to glue back onto the Bristol. This was actually my first experience using an exacto knife, so getting use to it was a bit of a challenge but end up being successful in the end getting through the cuts I needed to get done in order to finish this assignment.
