Honestly, people these days would do anything to have their fifteen minutes of fame, so trying to stop people from taking selfies or restricting certain areas to be selfie free zones wouldn’t change anything. I am not condoning these people’s actions, but nothing can stop them from doing what they want. If the authorities really want to stop people from taking dangerous selfies they can have certain sites with potential hazards enforce a rule for “no phones allowed” zones. Some people take selfies as a way to highlight their lifestyle and others take selfies for fun to share with friends and family. But some people are taking this selfie phase to dangerous levels.
