I personally feel that although capturing a moment like the moment captured in this photograph, the photographer should have appoached Aline Marie and asked if it was alright for her photo to be taken. Yes it might have taken away a certain feeling from the shot because it wouldn’t have been considered”real” but its more respectful that way. A photo that is being taken shouldnt be taken with out consent. I understand it is the photographers job but they should keep in mind that other poeple have feelings and might not want a photo taken of them in a time of vulnerability. Luckily she was nice about the over all situation, but at first thought she was a zoo animal with all the pictures being taken but when she saw it she said it was beautiful but if permission was asked first it would have been better. Photographers can come across different kinds of poeple, with different reactions, asking permission before taking a photo shouldn’t be that hard to do and can make it better. If a photographer wants to be respectful he or she should capture the moment of the subject and then confront them and ask if it is okay to publish them. No matter what situation it is, a photographer should ask permission, it is the right thing to do.
