The New York International Fringe Festival

TECHNICAL THEATRICAL INTERNSHIP: We also offer a theatrical tech internship called a Venue Production Assistant. This intern serves as the technical liaison in one of our twenty venues, and will work with the Venue Director to ensure smooth transition between each of the performances. Under the direction of our technical directors, Venue Production Assistants will become familiar with the equipment in their venue, and be trained on how to solve minor technical issues. They will also be the first candidate for the 12 – 14 shows assigned to that venue to hire as a board op (at a suggested rate of $25 – $50 per performance). With each of the 12 – 14 shows receiving 5 performances over the course of the festival, this could represent a significant stipend – not to mention a great resume addition. The bulk of the work for this internship happens in July and August as we start loading in theaters and continues through the week following the festival. THIS IS A NON-PAYING INTERNSHIP WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO WORK WITH THE PARTICIPATING COMPANIES FOR SMALL FEES BY OPERATING THE TECH ASPECT OF THEIR PRODUCTIONS. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF PAYMENT FOR THIS INTERNSHIP.
