You put some careful thought into the questions and your responses are original. I particularly enjoyed the way you spoke about the facades of the museums, pointing out that the concept of “traditional” is variable. Your interpretation of the painting of the American flag with three figures (you needed to include the title of the piece) was also very interesting. Your analysis of space was a little bit weaker (many students struggled with this question a bit). We wanted you to think more carefully about the arrangement of objects and how this arrangement created certain tensions/conversations, etc. between works of art. What is it about the tables and plates that engaged you, specifically? What about the triangular shape — how might you interpret that? Why is the dining room subject matter significant, and what was the meaning of adding names of women for each plate in this context?
