Buy Me! (Juicy Couture)

For this assignment, I decided to use my Juicy Couture perfume. I decided to use my studio rather than bringing the perfume outdoors in natural lighting. Reason being, I have more guidance on how the lighting will effect the glass perfume bottle. I kept the lighting at a more remote distance because the glare was highly enduring. It was tough for me to try and angle the camera in a way that my body nor any other nonessential figures disturbed the image. I highly enjoyed shooting an item of my choosing!!

I felt that this homework assignment, was pretty difficult. I used different kind of lightings, but it was hard to get them in a certain mood from the expressions on their face. I found it easier to use a darker lighting set and using side lighting to make it the emotion sad and lonely. When I did the ten photographs of the happy stuffed animal, I made sure to use a lot of lighting and emphasize on his body figure and face.

In this assignment, I believe the light helped a lot to communicate the mood. I tried using a small mirror as the reflector to give emphasis on the eyes or one of the stuffed animals  but its hard to tell in my photos. I also had an issue with removing the yellow from some of the photos because my camera doesn’t have the setting of tungsten light. But I did move the light around a couple of times to help communicate the mood between good and bad. I definitely will shoot again to get more photos without the yellow coloring.

HW3: A Rose is a Rose Diellza Kasimi

This assignment was lots of fun. I moved my table by the window that had the curtains and used it for the background. On the table I placed a pillow that was soft and had a color that looked great with the red rose. I had three lights that I used to achieve this effect that I was quite happy with it. I would love to hear honest opinions and comments from classmates and the teacher.

Shooting this rose was quite difficult. I used my desktop light to illuminate the background doing this created a shadow against the wall. I liked the outcomes of this image because it has warm colors. I used the walls of my room as the background.

HW3: A Rose is a Rose

For this assignment I though that i would do the same as we did in class, so i figure positioning the light wasn’t going to be as hard as last homework of the shoe.

I found it fun playing with the Rose, putting it in different positions and also the light. Hopefully i get the mood for most of the pictures.

The light help create the mood by creating shadows on the rose that gave the photo a sad, dark feel when the light is positioned in a certain position. When I used two lights, I gave the photo a bright, happy mood, as in these photos, there is less of a shadow.

Red Rose

Homework #3: A Rose is a Rose is a Rose.

Valerien Yepes - Red Rose

The light helped me communicate with the mood because when it is brighter and has less shadows, it releases a positive emotion. While the dark images gives off a melancholy and lonely feeling. I put the light farther away from the rose, because I didnt want the rose to have a harsh and intense light. To show romance and sadness I made sure to diffuse the light by using tracing paper and a pink umbrella. The umbrella made the rose appear pink. It also gave it a more softer and smoother look.

I chose these sneakers because it has a lot of designs and so i purposely chose it to capture all of the details. I used the desktop light and some window lighting. This made the sneaker to cast a great shadow on the paper. I was impressed with how smooth the background came out. The lighting could have been a little brighter.
