LL9

The three concepts I learned this semester in Prof. Michels class was street photography before we did street photography out in Times Square I was too shy to take photos of random people in the street. I learned techniques of taking photos of people and have more courage in taking photos of strangers.

The second concept I learned well was lighting direction when an object is lit up it doesn’t quite looked lit up when you take the photo. The main problem is there needs to be other lighting sources as well and the further you move the light the more shadows there will be. Not only is the lighting source plays a factor but the background you choose definitely sets the mood. The third concept I learned was that the angle of incidence equals to the angle of reflection. You could see that direct reflection is determined by angles between the lighting source.

I learned how to create a metaphor in photography such as how to create a bold, tension, crowded, increase, playful, order photographs using on a sliverware item such as a cheese crater and working with other objects.

Another thing I learned was that DIY Studios (mini-studio) for photography exists. This was very helpful this semester for half of my photography homework’s. It got its job done when it came to taking photos. The tripod was very useful when it came to taking photos especially getting the image bright, in focus and clear. The DIY studio taught me to use lighting in different variations to give an object more emphasis.
