There are many lessons we can take away from this class but just to name a few I’ll start with this.
Composition: Its obvious that taking photographs in different angles will deliver multiple outcomes, but after this class I truly expanded on that concept. A big part of making photography an art form is most definitely the composition and angle not only a photo is taken from but a new perspective to look at things you wouldn’t ordinarily see in that way.
Lighting: I don’t believe in Photography 1 we dove into lighting like we did in this class. After doing multiple shoots in class and at home, its interesting to see the different moods and emotions can come from something so simple. Its important in our field to understand how to use this to our advantage in the advertising and graphic arts world. After all its the communications program, and they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
I’ve saved the best for last, and this concept is something that is not so new, but something that I took to the next level when necessary.
Being Self Reliant definitely help me get through some of these assignments and to my surprise produce some great work. early on in the semester, I broke my camera during a shoot and wasn’t sure how i would get the rest of my shots. Desperate times call for desperate measures and I ended up using my camera phone during some of the shoots. Using principles of composition I managed to take some photos and to my surprise they came out great.
Another time this proved to be effective was when we came to the DIY photo Studio. Deciding to follow he links provided, putting together the Studio was fun, and not something that you have a chance to do in other classes but doing things yourself can definitely generate some outcomes you didn’t even know you were capable of doing.
