Hi my name is Brian. My pronouns are he/him and I’m majoring
hospitality management for a bachelors degree.
I was born in Brooklyn and still live there and my favorite author is Roald Dahl.
He is my favorite author because most of the books at the after school center
were by Roald and they were not only easy to read, but entertaining.
My hobbies include walking in silence and video games. Some games I enjoy
are csgo, titanfall2, and clash of clans.

Welcome, and thanks for this lovely introduction. Like you, I truly enjoyed Roald Dahl’s books when I was young. I especially remember The BFG. I’m struck by your observation that Dahl’s books were at an afterschool center. It’s very interesting to consider what kinds of texts or cultural references filter in to our awareness that way. I’m also struck by your note that you appreciate walking in silence. How important it is for us all to unplug. Especially during the pandemic I have tried to slow down and appreciate nature, even if in the single flower by the roadside. Is nature a part of your practice as well, or is silence the key aspect?
