BUF 3100: Trend Forecasting and Social Media
Course Description
This course provides an in-depth analysis of the latest trends in color, fiber, and fashion, and how they impact sales forecasting in the apparel industry. Through research and analysis, students will learn how to develop fashion forecasts for specific seasons. They will gain knowledge and skills in forecasting future trends in color, fabric, silhouettes, and textures, and how to integrate these findings into a trend forecast and corresponding merchandising plan. This will include creating mood boards, flat sketches, and spec details. Students will also learn how to communicate their ideas effectively to pattern makers and other producers in the fashion industry.
