BUF 2203: Visual Merchandising

Course Description

This course delves into the art of visual merchandising, examining how product presentation in retail environments can communicate messages about fashion brands and influence consumer behavior. Through a blend of theory and practice, students will explore the use of in-store environments, lighting, fixtures, special effects, and product placement to create effective displays. Topics covered include the design of visuals for walls and windows, presentation techniques, the effects of color, music, and lighting on consumer behavior, and the creation of specialty and department store displays. Additionally, students will continue to develop their Retail Marketing e-Portfolios in Open Lab.
