Sound Visualization Mashup: Phase 1

The song that I chose to make these thumbnails is “ Guns Down “ by Flau’jae the type of genre this song is based on R&B (pop/ hip hop).   So the thumbnails I have made are mostly beats they represent the rythmes that I heard in the beginning or the background. The thumbnails I drew are very staccato figures because they have a very sharp rhythm to them (except one).

The second bottom to the right (the little tornadoes) are not from a beat it is the vocals from the rapper and I made a new one every time she took breath from one verse to another. In the beginning of the song it starts out very mellow so that’s why I have one of the thumbnails more of a legato figure.

Sound Visualization Mashup: Phase 1

So the song that I choose to make these thumbnails on the image is “Want You” by Rynx feat. Miranda Glory and the genre of this music piece is based on pop/ electronic. Most of the thumbnails have these wobbling scripts and they represent the vocals and/or the bass of the music played and they’re also known as legato figures because it has this very slow and flow rhythm (for some of the wobbly thumbnails).

The top left is a bit unusual  and it is also known as staccato because all angles and lines are connected together and it has this very pointy edged that in music represents a rhythm that all different pieces are connected. These thumbnails are only instruments that are played on the music and hearing each part of the instrument I reimagined how they would look like and redesign it using my perspective image. I understand that the artist is showing signs of excitement and show it’s unique style of music and it the reason it’s one of my favorite songs is for the the amazing vocals and melodies that the artist is using as well as the amazing rhythm and potential on the bass/ percussion part.

Peoject#2: Sound Visualization Mashup-Phase 3

Animation

This anime is representing a mash up of two songs, Summertime and Feels Summer, both songs created by the artist Childish Gambino. The swirls are the Legato, they represent the long flowing manner of Childish Gambino’s voice in Feels like Summer. The circles and lines are the staccato. They represent the separated notes played by the repeated beats played summertime.

Time: 4 hours

Sound Visualizations: Phase 3

Animation

The sparks in the video represent the staccato song while the violin represents the violin in the legato song. The left panel on the bottom slides slowly to the violin while pitch is shown on the other violin panels. I also chose to make the smallest spark panel the one with the most energy to match the staccato beat that has higher frequency.

I worked on this for about 7 hours on the pictures and about 20 minutes to pick a song and a part I would crop.

Project 2 phase 1

This music has a lot of background noise, you can hear cars, people, animal. Sometimes it goes really slow, sometimes it goes hard. The music use the piano rhythm the whole music

I used more round shape because there is emotion in her voice.

Sound Visualization Mashup: Phase 1

The songs I was listening to for staccato was very up beat, pounding, and that had a constant rhythm. Meanwhile for legato, I was looking for more slow, melody, soft, and somewhat jazzy if I found one. So while listening to these music, at first it was hard to find the right set of music, but then when I did I was hearing and visualizing these jagged lines, irregular shapes, sharp edges, nut some were natural than geometric shapes. While for legato, everything seems more calmer, no geometric, and a nice swift of movement of the shapes. Some patterns did repeat because the beat remain the same in most of the song while it did have some slight new beats.  For this project it took me about a hour and a half or two hours max because I really try to visualize it.
