12/4/14:

During our class we brainstormed on what exactly we wanted to focus on to develop as a resource for CityTech students. One issue we all realized we had was how to get food on our breaks and still make it to class on time. We all agreed that this is a common issue that students have, since most students like to avoid the cafeteria at all cost. We decided to come up with a game where you can input when your class starts and the type of food you want to eat and the it will display to you everything that falls into that category. As a group we decided to delegate task for everyone to do, accumulating map screen shots, types of food locations near the school, cost associated with each location, menus to be utilized in the game and how long it will take to travel to each location walking from the school as well as chronicling the choices we’ve made today. We discussed how we would like the game to look and what we wanted the game to accomplish for students of CityTech.

12/7/14:

After our brainstorming session on 12/4/14, we decided to put all of our research so far into the formation of our proposal draft based on what we all wanted to accomplish with Tech Lunch Crunch as an app/game. Screen shots showing the maps, game play, and selectable avatars for Tech Lunch Crunch were edited and added to the site. We started to mess around with Google Map to find a couple of restaurants near the school, the distance between the school and the restaurants, the amount of time that it takes to get to the restaurant by walking, and the restaurant’s ratings.

12/9/14:

As a group we fine tuned the proposal of Tech Lunch Crunch that was added on 12/4/14 to fully reflect our goals. A resource page was created and updated with all of the sites we have used so far to help us gain information to develop our game/app. A detailed breakdown on how the game is played with step by step instructions explaining how to use the map, single player vs multi player experience, how the friends list work and overall usage of the settings was also added to the page. Our team worked on making edits to Tech Lunch Crunch site to make it more visually enjoyable and approachable to the viewers of our site as well as easy to navigate.

12/11/14:

As a group we have a table that includes the Restaurant by its name with the Location of the restaurant making it easier for the app to find the locations of the food spots. As a bonus we also have an extra column that will include the discount offered for students of the school so we will have both categories of the stores to choose from. We will now have discounted stores and non discounted stores to choose to eat from. Also we added screenshots of the game on common smart phones so viewers will have a general idea of what the app client/game will look like on their smart phones. It is established that not only food restaurants are included on the list, but also food markets are apart of the Tech Lunch Crunch Experience.

12/16/14:

Today we had to divide ourselves into subgroups in which each one of us had a different assignment to do before class ends. Some of us were trying to trace the the pictures back to their source so we could properly cite them within our website. Others were focusing on the power point. We recently got the email that told us that a power point will be needed for the presentation, we thought that we only needed the website to present so our agenda for today was to fix the website, proof read everything just in case, and write today’s journal. But now, we have to squeeze the power point in the schedule as requested and still manage to do everything else that was scheduled to do today. If we are not finished today, we will make sure to go over everything important that needs the whole group’s approval, the power point for example. Then, we will communicate through phone to make sure that we are one hundred percent ready for Thursday. Everything has to be done before Thursday, so if we are not finished today, then we have work to do at home.
