Entry 8-Korean Korean Virtual Museum

So I took a look at an online museum by the national museum of contemporary art that showcased Korean modern and contemporary art from the 1900s and 2000s. Throughout this exhibit, we see how Korean art gradually shifted or changed as time went on. The exhibit had many interesting art pieces.

One of those art pieces that I thought was interesting was the art piece called “Stone” by Ko Younghoon. This oil painting displays a series of open books which according to the description of English versions of his library” with some stone on top of them. The art piece is supposed to represent the human conflict of civilization against nature which in my opening is a creative way to express that idea. The hyperrealism of the painting and warm colors really makes it stand out. I personally like this painting.

Another art piece that I liked is a Pigment print called “Strange Ball” by Noj Sun-tag that was made from 2005 to 2007. In the photograph piece, we see a Radome which is a structure that protects radar antennae from rain and other weather issues. This is the picture of Camp Humpthre Radome located in Dairfure Hirasawa. The Radome issued to attack fighter jest according to the museum description. The dark tone of the painting helps fit the idea that this ball is constantly watching over Daechu-RI residents.

A final Art piece that I thought was interesting was a digital chromogenic color print piece by IM Sangbin in 2009/2010. The painting combines traditional Korean places, forest trees, and mountains with more modern buildings such as sky skyscrapers from locations like Seoul and Manhatten. I personally like this art piece as well because it makes me want to imagine how this would look in real life. imagine.

Animated Digital Board I made

Marla had assigned me and the other interns to work on some digital boards for Farmer Pizza and Grill. I was excited to do this since I enjoy using After Effects. We pretty much used some of the food options from the menus from the restaurant to make digital boards that would be displayed on monitors there.

First, I had to create or change the boards and assets for the digital boards in adobe illustrator and InDesign. Then I put everything I want to have movement on separate layers. I then exported them to After Effects where I would animate the boards. I spent quite some time in After effects trying to bring these still images to life. Marla told us that once the video is finalized, she gives the client it on a USB, where they can display them on the monitors. I was happy with the results of my boards and did get positive feedback from Marla and the other interns.

Entry 6- Live Q& A with Adobe Experts: Collaborative Work Management

So I attended a live event from Adobe Summit about collaborative work management and the panel included Adobe consulting and product experts. They talked about how applications like Workfront and Adobe Fusion can be used to navigate the large and tedious task of a collaboration project when it comes to marketing. I learned a little about how adobe programs are implemented in these jobs and how due dates, budgets, and reports are all managed in a collaborative workflow.

As someone who uses multiple Adobe programs, I thought this event was informative on the role I play as a Graphic Designer if I potentially was to work in a large business with a very strict workflow and marketing strategies. With that being said, all of the experts on this panel would be a great help and a good mentor to me since I am not too familiar with this specific aspect of marketing and how the roadmap of a large collaborative project is laid out.
