As a business, Marmalade wants to share the love for fashion in an uplifting and welcoming environment. However, they are much more than clothes! At Marmalade the experiences are prioritized as that inspires fashion that makes people feel great. The Marmalade community aren’t followers, they are individuals looking to inspire and be inspired by passionate people and pretty things. This small business choose not to be limited to trends or “being cool”.
The owner, Marie Widmyer said,
We have fun with fashion because we don’t take it too seriously. We wear what we want, when we want and dare others to do the same. Marmalade celebrates individuality, expression and personal style through encouraging customers to invest in clothes and wear them in whatever way makes them feel amazing.
Working with Marmalade during Fall of 2022 has been a remarkable learning experience as well as hands on. As a retail intern I was able to advance in supporting the functions of an omni-channel retailer and assist in organizing social media content for Instagram and TikTok. Working with Marmalade, I have learned it is important to be yourself and no one is perfect in the industry.
