Virtual Networking 2

It’s a couple of weeks in and we have to attend another network meeting. This time I choose an intern queen event with Variety magazine.  Variety is one of the biggest global entertainment trade publications that focuses on tv, film and digital entertainment, but they have  partnered with Intern Queen + Career Queen to bring to you career entertainment which of course will be a virtual panel event featuring top industry execs who will share unique perspectives and insights on how to get hired and make the most of employment opportunities in the current climate. This free event is on December 7th and will feature Variety’s own, Shali Dore (Features News Editor) and Meg Zukin (Social Media Editor). Arturo Barquet (Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Global Production Operations) at Universal Pictures Group will also join the panel. The discussion will be moderated by Intern Queen + Career Queen Founder and CEO, Lauren Berger.

They  invited current high school and college studentsto attend this event along with recent grads who may be looking for inspiration and career information during this time. The conversation included  topics ranging from general entertainment industry internship and career advice to specific tactics on putting together resumes, excelling at zoom interviews, nailing the pitch, and taking advantage of virtual networking opportunities.

For the zoom call she wanted us to turn on the video camera so she doesn’t feel like she not talking to any one. It was a great experience and i have connected with a lot of people through linkedin from all over the united states so that was a great experience. I also learned some wonderful stuff about going on the interview and how to connect to people now that we can’t go outside so a lot of people are using social medias to see if anyone is hiring or trying to get an intern.
