Week 1

3/23/20

4:47pm- All are located in my house

Even though I can’t go outside, I’m already used to staying inside for a long period of time. I liked staying home for the summer after a long semester. In order to entertain myself each day I have plenty of options. I can watch ‘The Office’ on Netflix, catch up on anime or cartoons, read my manga, and play games on almost any device I have. It’s a lot so I wouldn’t list them all here. If I’m going to write about my experience each day then I’ll eventually get to it on the weekends. I will write about one for today.

I didn’t have anything to work on, so I played my games for the rest of the day. First I played a game that I usually check daily. On my iPad, I’m able to play a game called ‘Sky: Children of Light’. It’s about candle children spreading light to others that need it. It can be relaxing to play. It gets 5 points for being able to fly in the game. It makes the game feel fun to explore. Then there’s the ability to make friends in the game. Everyone is so nice and are always glad to help. It takes more than an hour to finish what I need to do for the day. I always try my best to finish it as fast as I can.

2/24/20

7:00am

Tuesday was the longest day in school but NOT ANYMORE! HA! I am glad that there’s no more three hours classes especially. But soon I realized that I would have to go to school and work on my work. That makes me sad.

10:54am

I just finished my figure drawing class. I think this class will go through the most changes. We are now just drawing in sketchbooks and to use whatever we have. The video chat experience was pretty good. For most of these, I would be using just my mic. Cameras make me uncomfortable. Luckily it’s not mandatory. Something funny happened towards the end of the session. One of the students had an improper name. Some texted me that and I was dying. It didn’t talk long till someone pointed that out. Professor Nelson was cool about it. The person was just marked absent.

11:10am

Oh! We can finally use Adobe at home! Now I can be a complete hermit. No more trains, people, or time limit. Not the real question is… Will I get stuff done more efficiently?

3/25/20

7:00am

Oh, I forgot I had an alarm set for class today. I really didn’t want to get up but I have. If I did close my eyes I would be knocked out like a light. While waiting for 8:30am to come I am going to play my daily dose of Sky.

8:42am

I’ve been waiting for a bit for any sign of any post. Maybe it’ll be like last time. I’ll keep checking while watching seal videos. I wouldn’t long till my eyes start giving up on me.

9:40am

This is the third time getting up to check for anything new. At this point, I think it was over. I double checked to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Then I took a longer nap till my next class.

1:57pm

The class I head was Graphic design principles 2. It’s the same class I can’t join Monday. She went over a few things like assignments and what we needed to do due to everyone being home. As soon as it ended, I ate a cream cheese sandwich. I would go relax while watching YouTube but work has to be done.

6:07pm

What I had to do was paint combined letters on an illustration board. I messed up on both and would have to make more. I’ll have to cut out another board piece after my third try next time. The edges are the hardest part for me. My brush keeps going over the outline. Part of the reason why is my lighting. My shadow and the ink made it hard to see the brush. I eventually moved my passion to the side, but I still had difficulty seeing the brush.

3/26/20

8:28am

Thursday is the part of my schedule that I liked the least. Not because of the class. It’s more to do with the time it takes place. Before I had the looming feeling in my head of getting ready for school until 12:00pm which is when I actually got ready to leave. It feels like most of the day is gone. Now that I’m home, I still have to keep in mind of getting ready for an online session but it’s super easy and faster than before. Enough rambling, it’s breakfast time!

9:19am

I had the usual hotdog for breakfast. While I was doing that, I watched some YouTube videos. YouTube is my replacement for tv. Especially when the channels I use to watch daily does not have shows that don’t interest me. If you’re wondering, I’m talking about channels that aired cartoon shows such as Cartoon Network, Disney channel and Nickelodeon. Most I grew out of, but others still entertain me. Shows like “Mao Mao”, “The Owl House” and “Rise of the Teenage mutant ninja Turtles” which has some amazing animation.

4:57pm

I just finished Typography class. And I realize I should finish my Raster and Vector homework soon. It’s going to take a while since we have to recreate a Disney poster. But of course, I picked something that is heard to do. I picked a three-dimensional character. I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself.

3/27/20

8:00am

Friday feels like any other day now. It’s like time doesn’t matter as much. I chilled for the morning until the last class for this week.

1:45pm

After my Graph Design online class, I showed my professor the work I did Wednesday. She said it was good! I thought it was terrible. The ink when over the outlines and the curves were not smooth.

8:37pm

I’ve finally done it! I finished my Disney poster. It looks pretty good. I would have done more to it, but I don’t have much experience making a drawing look 3D and Adobe works a bit different on my Windows computer. I did my best of what I know and that’s what matters.

3/28/20

10:43am

When I woke up, I didn’t do much. I played Sky for the morning and then checked on the Disney poster project to do a few corrections. I haven’t really had breakfast yet so I’m going to check what’s cooking in the kitchen.

10:50am

My mom is baking cake today! It’s been a long time since I ate pound cake. I used to eat them a lot, but I eventually got tired of it. Now that years passed, I am willing to try something familiar again. She uses an old cookbook that my aunt gave her. It’s so old that the paper turned yellow. I used to help my mom bake. The worst part was the cake mixer. We had one you have to hold and stir. It took about thirty minutes to stand and constantly stir the egg, butter, flour, baking powder and spices. My arm used to hurt like fire. But now we got a mixer that does it on its own. My mom said it so much easier and quicker. It got a five star from her.
