Three things that I would say that I am good at or enjoy doing are, drumming, playing basketball and playing games. If I were to rank them from best to worst, I would say that my strongest talent is basketball, second would be drumming and last would be playing video games.
As for drumming, I started drumming when I was 10 years old. But when I talk about drumming I do not mean a drum set, I am apart of a drum line. But, back to where it all began. So when I was 10 years old, I joined this group in my church named The Pathfinder Club. In The Pathfinder Club there was a drum corp., that I was so very eager to join because I use to see them play when I was very small. It looked like a lot of fun and I thought it would be very entertaining to me. So after joining The Pathfinder Club, I just started to excel in drumming and trying to become the best snare/quint player that I could. But, after staying with The Pathfinder Club for 7 years, I decided to take my talents to a real community drumline named Blue Angels Drumline which I am currently apart of today.
When I talk about video games, I wouldn’t really consider myself a gamer. I play video games when I have free time or when I’m bored. The real reason I play video games is to relieve stress and have fun with my friends. I think video games really help me get away from life’s responsibilities for a little while. But really when I talk about video games there isn’t much to say.
Basketball on the other hand has benefited my life in many different ways. Not only is it a way to escape life’s responsibilities and have fun, but it is also a way to stay fit and keep active outside. When it comes to basketball, I take the game very serious. I first started playing basketball when I was in second grade and I’ve never stopped. I’ve played for many different teams, whether it be AAU or regular teams, I was always trying to play. When I was a freshman at South Brooklyn Academy, I was able to win the Rookie of the Year Award because of how well I played that season. I played two seasons with South Brooklyn Academy, then I transferred to Urban Assembly Maker Academy in my junior year and played with them. At UA Maker Academy I was able to win The Most Outstanding Player Award. Not to brag, but I take a lot of pride in basketball and I always will as long as I am playing.
