This project so far is a lot easier to manage than the previous two. With the project I no longer have to look up research targets or face the fear of forgetting to leave a citation in the right place. With the project having freedom of choice I struggled to pick a topic at first, however once I learned that we’re truly free in our choice this was no longer a problem. With my limited amount of experience in anything I choose a topic I knew I could manage the best. My current status in this project is about forty percent complete. I have an outline that am following so am currently not stuck anywhere. Also so far I’ve completed my intro for the manual. The intro is just a short sentence detailing what the manual will be about. I’ve almost completed the table of contents. The table of contents is left with some breathing room in case I add or remove parts from my project. My project also includes a warning page, however there isn’t much to add on it at the moment, this will also be revised once I continue working on my project.

Davon Henson – Mid Semester Status
The semester is half way over and throughout the time i’v spent in this class I felt like I learned a lot about technical writing. At first I wasn’t very interested because this seemed like another class that was meant to take up space on my schedule. However now, my opinion still hasn’t drastically changed. I’ve come to like the class a little and develop a better understanding of professional writing. The constant writing assignments that have us choose a topic of our choice makes me feel uncomfortable. To me, having to choose our own subject is a new found freedom which am not use to in a school environment. Sometimes I would spend hours thinking if my topic is interesting enough or can it cover all the points am trying to make. The postie side of taking this course is learning how much professional writing is viewed in the real world.
Davon Henson: Summary on “The Shallows” Chapter 3 -5
Chapter three of this shallows focuses on the tools that helped the form the current position of humanity as we see today. The author mostly focuses on the map and the clock. The examples the author gives through this chapter really helped me to understand how these tools improved humanity’s abstract and cognitive thought process. Chapter four of “The Shallows” structure is similar to chapter three’s. Instead in this chapter the author displays reading and writing as a way humanity has progressed. As literacy improved through the ages so did people’s cognitive thought process. Moving on to chapter five of “The Shallows” the author moves of track of showing how tools have helped us improve through the ages and instead focus more on the present tools of our time. The author brings up many positive and negative aspects of the internet. The negative aspects are shown through there examples, such as how reading a book versus reading off the screen something is lost.
