We get a glimpse of how Mrs. Mallard feels free from the burden of having to live under the shadow of her husband. She no longer has to be indulged in her wifely duties.

  1. Yes this quote was definitely was in the exam. I feel like this was a really good quote because it when we get a sense of how Ms. Mallard felt after finding out of her husband death. We see that she was actaully relieved and felt free to be her own person from that day on. We can assume that she they have much liberty when her husband was alive. I also agree when you stated that she felt free from the burden of living in her husband shadows. Ms. Mallard will actually live for herself as she stated in the story.
