Self assessments are an important part of our projects. When we do a self assessment we are looking at our work for what it truley is. We look and see which parts of our project work well, and which parts dont. We analyze everything that we just did and look at it in a way that will prepare us well to do something similar. It helps us think about our work and how we did it in a very helpful way.

Contrast from the Cooper Hewitt collection
https://collection.cooperhewitt.org/objects/18651789/
This has a nice contrast with the black and white. The top specifically makes the eyes really pop out because of the dark black on the top.

The black and white battery on the bright pink background really has a nice pop. Its a strong example of contrast.

This example is like the one before it. It is a black and white tire on top of a bright yellow background. It also has a very nice contrast in it.

the Cooper Hewitt collection rhythm & movement
https://collection.cooperhewitt.org/objects/18607889/ – Rhythm – From the link I see rhythm with the box shapes and colors that repeat over and over again.
https://collection.cooperhewitt.org/objects/420557287/ – Rhythm – This piece is very similar to the one above it in that they both show rhythm in the same way.
https://collection.cooperhewitt.org/objects/18651937/ – movement – This piece has movement because the gun seems to point down from the upper left. My eye starts up there and goes down the barrel and off the page.
https://collection.cooperhewitt.org/objects/18651763/ – rhythm – The red balls that are repeated give it a strong rhythm.
https://collection.cooperhewitt.org/objects/18651991/ – movement – My eyes follow the lines that are in this piece.
https://collection.cooperhewitt.org/objects/18651899/ – Movement – My eyes start at the top and go straight down. This has a clear downwards direction to me.
3 ads with visual hierarchy
The keep new yorkers safe ad clearly has a hierarchy defined by text size.

My favorite Student Perk
My favorite student perk is the 6 months free of amazon prime. I get free next day shipping on a lot of items including the camera I just purchased. I also get to enjoy amazon prime movies and shows. Its definitely something i recommend everyone should take advantage of.
Why thumbnail skethes are important
These sketches ate vital to the process of creating a good design because it allows you to quickly brainstorm ideas and visually see them infront of you at the same time. Allowing you to look at all the many possiblitys you came up with.
Introduction
- I am taking this course because I have a passion for art and design. I see art in everything around me from the advertisements on TV to the can of soda i drink out of and i want to become a part of creating all that I see around me.
- I am inspired by the designs on product packages and advertisements. I find it interesting how everything is created with the intention of capturing the viewer and bringing them in.
- My preferred design method includes a mix between pencil on paper and computer software. With products like adobe Photoshop you can do a lot of interesting things with your art.
- I would be most interested in collaborating in projects that involve using computer programs as well as advertisements for items.
