From The Field

As a class we went on a field trip to a printing facility. We learned many things about packaging and printing papers on this trip and it was very interesting.

In this picture you can see a man operating a machine that assembles paper at a rapid speed. It uses air and rolling poles to propel paper through the machine.

How long would it take to accomplish the same task without the machines assistance?

Here we see the web press which is one of the older machines in the facility. It is amazing how it still competes with usability and efficiency with other newer machines in the age. It can print tons of paper and even weighed a couple tons.

How well does this machine compete with newer technology for the same job?

How much paper is this able to hold and print in a day?
