Arestin is an antibiotic made by minocycline hydrochloride. It is use to treat an infection around the gum. It is help to reduced periodontal pocket depth in adult patient with periodontal gum disease. I was successfully place aeration on two patients. so when i explain to my patients what is arestin and how it is work on tooth surface, they were very interested to get that service, because they also told my their dentist to get the same service but in private practice its very expensive like one surface is $100. In city tech college arestin is totally free for the patient, so its very helpful for those patient who can not effort. So i successfully placed arestin on 8 surfaces and also gave post operative instruction to patient. When mu patients came back for post evaluation, i was so placed to see the pocket deduction on each surface. and also explain to the patient about how arestin worked and how it reduced the inflammation from gingiva.
