Test #1

Test #1 will be given in class on Thursday, October 13. It covers material Lessons 1 to 10 on the course hub.

Assignment 1: crowdsourced Test #1 review

Due on the OpenLab Monday, October 10, 11:59pm

Step 1:

Choose one question from WeBWorK homework or from the final exam review sheet. Post your full solution on the OpenLab. Title your post “Test #1 Review” and add the section or WeBWorK set name and problem number. Add the category Test #1 Review before submitting your post.

Make sure nobody has submitted your problem already; try to make sure every section that will be on Test #1 is represented. The idea here is that you as a class are creating a review sheet for everyone to study from for the first test. You will be given participation credit for this post.

Step 2:

It is up to you as a class to ensure that all solutions are correct. After you have posted your own solution, solve the problem that one of of your classmates posted (don’t look at their solution first). After you have solved the problem yourself, read their solution. Comment on their post to discuss where your solutions were similar, where they differed. Include any questions or suggestions you have about their solution.

Assignment 2: Test #1 cheat sheet

Due on the OpenLab Monday, October 10, 11:59pm

For Test #1, you will be permitted to bring a cheat sheet. Your cheat sheet must be

  • one side of one page
  • hand written by you.

You will hand in your cheat sheet with your test.

Step 1:

Share a photo of your cheat sheet as a post on the OpenLab. Title your post Test #1 cheat sheet; choose the category Test #1 cheat sheet.

Step 2:

Look through your classmates’ cheat sheet posts and submit comments with any of your questions or suggestions.
